Saint Brigid’s Day
February 1st is Saint Brigid’s Day!
This is the day that people in Ireland celebrate the start of spring. Flowers are emerging from the ground and buds are appearing on trees, and if you look to the skies you might see a flying V- geese and swans leaving Ireland to head for the colder climates of Iceland and Canada!
Everyone in Room 8 is working hard at home getting all our schoolwork done. To celebrate Saint Brigid’s Day we learned the story of St. Brigid and her amazing cloak and we made Saint Brigid’s crosses.
