PostHeaderIcon Junior Infants in Room 1 know how to keep cool!

24th May 2010

Junior Infants from Room 1 have been doing experiments on heating and cooling! In the morning we had some freezer pops. They were very cold, and were frozen.

We decided to leave some icepops in the school yard to see what would happen.

We used our skills of observing, predicting, questioning and evaluating.

When we returned, the icepops had melted!

Later, we wrote about what we remembered from  our experiment!!!

Junior and Senior Infants enjoyed an afternoon relaxing outside in the sun reading and listening to stories. First, the teachers read some stories. Then Rawaan, Seán and Emma from Room 5 picked their own books. We were all very impressed at their great reading skills, and Junior Infants really enjoyed listening to the older children read! Well done Senior Infants!

Junior Infants have had a very busy year.  Here are some of our favourite activities so far!

At Christmas time we visited the Moving Crib and posted our letters to Santa at the GPO.

In January, we went to the Duck Pond at Blessington Street Basin. We brought some bread to feed the ducks, and we were very excited when they came to eat it!

We enjoyed entering the Sightsavers Junior Painter of the Year competition, and painted lovely pictures.

And…in April we went on a teddy bears picnic. We brought our wonderful teddy bear friends to school, and enjoyed lunch at the Diamond Park.
