Our goal is to create life-long learners who show good judgement in their lives and are compassionate to themselves, each other and the planet.

Founded in 1830, Gardiner Street Primary School is one of the oldest schools in Ireland and we continue to strive to make our school a safe and happy place for our children and a hub of the community.
We are proud of our Jesuit identity which puts prayer, social justice, environmentalism and multiculturalism at the heart of our school.

Ms Hannonโs 3rd class have started the Roots of Empathy Programme! ๐ณThe children learn to recognise and connect with the vulnerability and humanity of a baby who visits their classroom throughout the school year, along with a trained Roots of Empathy Instructor using a specialised curriculum ๐ถ๐ผThe experiential learning with the parent and infant is biologically embedded in the studentโs brains as they observe this secure attachment relationship ๐ฉโ๐งIn Roots of Empathy, emotional literacy develops as children begin to identify and label the babyโs feelings, reflect on and understand their own feelings, then bridge to understand the feelings of others. Great fun was had in the lead up to Christmas here in Gardiner Street Primary School! ๐ Our parents and guardians joined us for some lovely in-class activities. 5th class decorated and designed Christmas cookies and Junior Infants made Christmas collages.
