Creating Aztec Sun Stones in A1 2017
We have been learning all about the Aztecs and their culture in A1. We learned how they were master stonecraftsmen and carved intricate designs into stone creations.
We learned all about the Aztec ‘Sun Stone’. This stone was used as a calendar by the Aztecs and we were so inspired, we decided to create our own versions of the Sun Stone.
We used our pencils to create designs in the clay, although, we had to settle for making smaller creations as the length of the original Sun Stone’s diameter is an astonishing 3 meters and 58 centimeters!
