Maths Week 2017
Maths Week took place around the whole country from October 14th – October 22nd. All the boys and girls in our school participated in numerous activities throughout the week to celebrate. We went on maths trails around our school, we played special maths games in our classes and we used our problem solving skills to work out the ‘Guess the Teacher’ display in the school entrance hall each day.
All of the activities were great fun but everyone’s favourite was estimating how many sweets were in the jar. The closest guess got to keep the jar and share all the sweets with their class. Kevin Farcas from 4th Class, A5 won the sweets with a guess of 299, the correct number was 297. We also had a jar for the parents in Laragh’s room and Denise Duncan, mum of Kyra in Room 16 won that jar with a guess of 220, just one away from the correct number of 221.
Congratulations to everyone for all their effort during Maths week, it was a great success.
